Bill Clinton: America 'Can't Win Land War In Iraq'

No word as to whether President Clinton's wife agrees that the United States is incapable of winning a war in Iraq.

Former President Bill Clinton appeared on Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart to discuss President Obama's strategy against ISIS. During the interview the husband of presumptive 2016 candidate Hillary Clinton proclaimed that the United States "can’t win a land war in Iraq — we proved that.”

The comment appeared to be a criticism of President George W. Bush's policy in Iraq, but it has been received as a declaration of America's military limitations, an unprecedented statement from a former Commander-In-Chief.

He quickly added that the Iraqis can win a land war “and we can help them win it.”

“The Iraqi government finally includes Sunnis who were representing those tribal leaders who are moderate and without whom ISIS cannot be defeated,” Clinton continued. “We can give them intelligence, and we can do bombing, and we have to do that to send a signal to them. That there’s a price for decapitating those people,” he said.
