In a last-ditch desperate attempt to connect with "urban youth" before the election, Hillary Clinton stepped onstage in Cleveland Friday with overexposed pop star and Black Lives Matter icon Beyonce and her husband, profane rapper and former drug dealer Jay-Z to stump for votes at a rally.
After the surprise musical set ended, Beyonce lectured the crowd that “I want my [4-year-old] daughter to grow up seeing a woman lead our country and know that her possibilities are limitless. We have to think about the future of our daughters, our sons and vote for someone who cares for them as much as we do, and that is why I’m with her.”
Of course, with a combined net worth of nearly $1 billion, Beyonce and her husband and daughter will be safely insulated from the deleterious impact Hillary will have on this country.
After Beyonce was done, Jay-Z came out and rambled a bit before saying, "And without further 'doo [yes, he said "'doo"], I would like to introduce to you the next President of the United States!"
Hillary emerged, there were hugs all around, and then she took the mic and ticked off a list of problems she plans to address in her presidency that she thought would appeal to this audience: criminal justice reform, poverty, and racism. Of course, once the musical performance ended the crowd quickly began filing out, so Hillary was mostly shouting at the backs of exiting Beyonce fans.
For a happy ending to the interminably talky video above, check out Donald Trump's tacked-on appearance at a separate event (beginning at 7:47). He tells the cheering crowd that he doesn't need "J-Lo or Jay-Z" to fill up an auditorium with supporters, "the only way [Hillary] gets anybody."
