After campaigning heavily for Hillary this past election, actor Robert De Niro now states that the election of Donald Trump as POTUS makes him "feel like I did after 9/11," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

De Niro also lamented how the loss of Hillary Clinton has left him with a case of post-election blues. 

 "How am I doing? I’m very depressed," he said. 

In an interview with Agence France-Presse last Friday, the former Academy Award winner was asked if he supported protests across the country, which has included the closing of metropolitan freeways at times. 

"Yes, absolutely," he said. "Things aren’t being done right."

De Niro called on his comrades to stay "vigilant" under Trump.

"We have to just wait and see how things go and keep our eyes ever-vigilant on the new government," De Niro said Friday.

The Taxi Driver star has been virulently against the election of Donald Trump throughout this year, doing a monologue in October where he called Trump "an embarrassment" to the United States and said he would like to "punch him in the face."

He also said that a Hillary loss would be a "tragedy." He did not say that "tragedy" would be akin to 3,000 people losing their lives to Islamic terrorists. Now we know what he meant, and we wish we didn't.
