Al Sharpton's race-baiting National Action Network has joined forces with the terror-linked Council for American-Islamic Relations to provide "muscle" to the anti-Israel BDS students on San Diego State University's campus in order to help them oust President Elliot Hirshman.

The call for Hirshman's resignation came from SDSU's Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) who were upset that the president didn't rescue them from the "#StopTheJewHatred" campaign posters recently posted on campus by David Horowitz's Freedom Center. On the posters, specific names were listed of prominent student and faculty BDS activists who openly support terrorist attacks on Israel by Hamas and Fatah. Members of SJP and the Muslim Students Association considered the posters hate speech and viewed them as threatening to the safety of the students mentioned. Hirshman's less-than-full-throated agreement made him target number one.

After Hirshman issued a statement in support of free speech on the SDSU campus that failed to outright denounce the posters' claims, an incensed mob gathered around him as he tried to leave campus inside the safety of a police car. He was held hostage for hours by the BDS supporters. When they finally let him speak, he softly apologized for anything he said that might have upset them. That appeased them enough to move away and let him leave, but that didn't satisfy their bloodlust.

Horrowitz commented on President Hirshman's relenting to student pressure:

Why would the president of a liberal university do that? Obviously because he was intimidated, not only physically but by the prospect of further disruptions on his campus that would be detrimental to its image and his career. That is the true situation on this campus. Free speech on this and other campuses is threatened by anti-Israel activists and leftwing activists generally, and by no one else. It is I who have to have armed guards, assigned by the university itself, to protect my physical safety and ensure that I will get through my speech without obstruction.

Enter Sharpton's National Action Network, coming to aid these anti-Israel protesters in seeking so-called justice and giving them what they want: Hirshman's job. NAN joined with CAIR to provide some much needed "muscle" in removing the president. NAN's Rev. Shane Harris held a news conference on campus to explain:

“He has shown that he does not have any muscle as a leader. You could not use your muscle, and now we will use ours. Today is the first day of a national movement.”

A "national movement" that has no problem backing an anti-Semitic campaign whose sole purpose is to call for the destruction of the Jewish state through the inspiration of Palestinian terrorists and with the blessing of Hamas. 

The desires of these student aggressors go against what the majority of SDSU's student body wants. According to the former vice president of student relations, Tyler Aquilar, Hirshman "is a great president":

"He’s been a great advocate for students all year. He’s been there when we’ve needed him. He definitely needs to stay as president, and the overwhelming majority of people on campus would probably agree with me.”

But Hirshman isn't dealing with agreeable people inside the BDS movement. At nearby UC San Diego, the Muslim Student Association there celebrates an annual Justice in Palestine Week. During the festivities, dubbed "Hitler Youth Week" by pro-Israel groups, the MSA sets up a mock Israeli checkpoint.

This is who we are dealing with, and it's the kind of discrimination Al Sharpton and his crew can definitely get behind.
