The trio of stars from the 1980 comedy 9 to 5 reunited onstage at the Stephen Colbert-hosted Emmy Awards show Sunday night and proceeded to trash President Trump for no particular reason except that Hollywood stars can't help themselves injecting politics into everything.

A heavily-facelifted and Botoxed Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Dolly Parton appeared onstage to introduce an award, and Parton said that she'd been hoping for this reunion ever since the movie.

The treasonous Fonda then demonstrated that she's just as terrible an actress as she's always been by stiffly delivering the scripted joke setup, “Back in 1980, in that movie, we refused to be controlled by a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot!”, referring to co-star Dabney Coleman, who played their jerk of a boss in 9 to 5.

Tomlin responded with the punchline (?), “And in 2017, we still refuse to be controlled by a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot!”

Get it? She means Donald Trump! Get it? It's hilarious!

The crowd certainly thought so. Everyone cheered and applauded loudly, all except Oprah Winfrey, who at least had enough business savvy to know that it might be better to sit on her hands for that one.

The same can't be said for Dolly Parton, however, who smiled through the tasteless attack like it was all in good fun. By participating in this scripted bit, she damaged her brand among many of her middle American fans who have always appreciated her down-home persona and refusal to get political. We expected this boorishness from Tomlin and Fonda, but we're disappointed in you, Dolly.
