If you don't follow the Women's March on Twitter, which I highly advise against, you may have missed one of the more revealing tweets to be sent from their liberal account.
"Happy birthday to the revolutionary #AssataShakur!" the official account tweeted.
Who is Assata Shakur? Is this person someone they hope young women will emulate? Is this a strong woman who's done amazing things for this nation? Hardly. In fact, you would be hard-pressed to find a more reprehensible woman. Here's a description of what she did, from the Officer Down Memorial Page:
Trooper Werner Foerster was shot and killed with his own service weapon after backing up another trooper who had stopped a vehicle containing two men and a woman on New Jersey Turnpike.
The subjects started struggling with the troopers and were able to disarm Trooper Foerster. One of the men opened fire, killing Trooper Foerster and wounding the other trooper. Despite the wounds, the other trooper was able to return fire and killed of the subject.
The three subjects were members of the Black Liberation Army. The two surviving subjects were convicted of Trooper Foerster’s murder, but the female suspect escaped from prison in 1979 and fled to Cuba, where she has remained at large. The man who shot Trooper Werner was sentenced to life in prison. He was denied parole in 2011, but in September 2014, the New Jersey Superior Court overturned the ruling and ordered that the subject be paroled.
That is despicable. That "female" was born Joanne Deborah Byron and is currently on the FBI's "Most Wanted Terrorists" list under her married name Joanne D. Chesimard. The officer was only 34 years old and had been on the police force for three.
The FreeBeacon reminds us that this isn't new. "This is not the first time the Women's March has celebrated a convicted terrorist. One of the movement's leading figures, Rasmea Yousef Odeh, was convicted of carrying out several terrorist attacks in Israel."
The FBI is offering $1 million dollars to anyone who gives information that leads to her recapture... yet the Women's March chooses to elevate her to their half a million followers.
At least we know where they stand.
