CNN's Wolf Blitzer interviewed Osama Hamdan, a top representative of Hamas in Lebanon and member of the terror group’s Politburo, on "The Situation Room" Monday. As the interview was wrapping up, Blitzer confronted Hamdan over comments he made on television saying that Jews kill Christians to use their blood to make matzos.

On July 28, Hamdan stated on Hamas television in Lebanon:

We all remember how the Jews used to slaughter Christians in order to mix their blood in their holy matzoa. This is not a figment of the imagination or something taken from a film. It is a fact acknowledged by their own books and historical evidence.

Blitzer confronted Hamdan, trying to get a confirmation or denial, but Hamdan wouldn't dare repeat in English what he had previously said in Arabic.   Hamdan’s first response was that Israeli MK Moshe Feiglin planned to put Palestinians in a concentration camp and that Hamdan had many Jewish friends. "I have Jewish friends who are supporting the Palestinian rights.”

Blitzer continued to press the point but the Hamas spokesman continually avoided answering. Instead, Hamdan repeatedly answered Blitzer with charges of genocide against Israel. Finally, Blitzer finally gave up:

We're going to leave it there. I was hoping to get a flat denial from you that you would utter such ridiculous words that Jews would kill Christians in order to use their blood to bake matzo. That sounds, as you know, that is an awful, awful slur.
