Wedding Is Off! Charles Manson's Fiancee Wanted His Corpse For Profit

A different kinda of sick!

Charles Manson will not be getting married in prison after he learned that his 27-year-old fiancée only wanted him for his body (no, not that way).

In a bizarre twist to an already bizarre story, journalist Daniel Simone told the NY Post that the entire engagement was all a scheme by Afton Elaine Burton to take control of Manson’s body after he died so she could place it on display as a tourist attraction and profit off his death.

The NY Post writes that Burton and a friend, Craig Hammond “planned to lay out Manson’s remains in a glass crypt.”

But Manson refuses to be a lifeless spectacle incased in glass for eternity.

“He’s finally realized that he’s been played for a fool,” Simone said.

According to Simone and Heidi Jordan Levy, his co-author for their upcoming book “The Retrial of Charles Manson,” Burton and Hammond came up with the idea two years ago and asked Manson if they could have his corpse when he dies.

“He didn’t give them a yes, he didn’t give them a no. He sort of strung them along,” Simone said. But they persisted by bringing Manson all sort of toiletries and as long as the duo brought Manson things, he kept stringing them along.

After a while, Burton and Hammond realized they would not be getting Manson’s remains so had to switch tactics, and that is when the marriage concept was born.

“If Burton married Manson, the pair realized, California law would give her possession of Manson’s remains upon his death,” Simone said.

Simone also believes that another reason for Manson’s refusal to wed Burton is because Manson believes he is immortal.

“He feels he will never die,” Simone said. “Therefore, he feels it’s a stupid idea to begin with.”
