Welcome to your feel-good story of the day.
Commander of the U.S. Pacific Command Adm. Harry Harris spoke at the 75th anniversary ceremony of the attack on Pearl Harbor and said something that should make San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick stand up in honor from now on during the national anthem, just like the people who rose to their feet after hearing what this top officer had to say:
“You can bet that the men and women we honor today – and those who died that fateful morning 75 years ago – never took a knee and never failed to stand whenever they heard our national anthem being played."
It was a great moment that was appreciated by the memorial crowd who applauded the admiral’s words for nearly a minute. All arguments to the contrary have since been rendered invalid.
