Yesterday on The View, the ladies discussed Senator Ted Cruz, fresh off the announcement of his presidential bid in 2016.

Guest host Michelle Collins announced she was a "Ted Cruz birther" and wanted to "see the birth certificate."

The heated discussion began with Collins asking "He [Ted Cruz] was not born in America. He was born in Canada. So how can he run -- how can he run for president? I actually don't get it. I know he has to go to court."

Nicolle Wallace, former McCain operative, did not bother to mention that Cruz's mother was born in the United States and that he is a natural born citizen. She also said Cruz citizenship is the least of his problems.

Perez told Nicolle Wallace: "For you [Nicolle Wallace] to say as a Republican that him not being born in this country is the least of his problems is insane. Insane. I love you darling, but with the birthers and all of that stuff, they've made it a huge issue."

Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie Perez chattered on about how Sen. Cruz was a birther, even though as Newsbusters explains, "the senator has never questioned President Obama’s citizenship." Whoopi said "I do, I want to see the birth certificate."
