Big bucks for illegal aliens are being set aside at the University of California-Berkeley as part of services directed to “undocumented” students.

The university has allocated between $400,000 and $800,000 to meet the various needs of the growing illegal alien population on campus, said UC-Berkeley Chancellor Carol Christ. The funds will help cover the “DACA Financial Gap” and provide aid to those students as well as help pay for demanded additional office space for the undocumented student center which has been in place for the last six years. The money will also help any student that may lose their DACA status. 

However, as Campus Reform noted, the money is “actually being allocated to ‘a general grant fund’ for students with ‘basic needs’ such as housing or food insecurity.” And though any needy student can benefit from the funds, it’s estimated that a high number of them will come from the undocumented community.

“Apparently it isn't enough for the university to raise tuition on hard-working students. They're now allocating hard-earned tax dollars to illegal aliens in the guise of tolerance,” said College Republicans member Rudraveer Reddy. “UC-Berkeley received less funds from Governor Brown's state budget and, as a result, it has been forced to hike tuitions for its students. In such times, forking over a million dollars [sic] to persons who didn't follow the law is a proposition I find baffling.”

Ah, the many benefits of breaking the law.
