Donald Trump has a message to all NFL players kneeling during the "The Star-Spangled Banner." The President wants them to observe a photo, and learn from it.
The gut-wrenching picture was posted to Twitter by user Corey Jones in September of 2016. It shows a woman, with her baby in a carrier, sprawled out on the grass. The blanket beneath them is decorated with images of a loving couple. Near her head are flowers and an American flag, flanking a headstone in a military cemetery. The caption on the image reads, "This is Why We Stand." Jones comments:
"We stand to honor those who fought and died defending the greatest nation the world has ever known. God bless our vets! #MAGA"
President Trump posted his endorsement of the image and tweet early this morning, adding:
"So beautiful....Show this picture to the NFL players who still kneel!"
Trump has called on players to stand during the National Anthem since October. Sadly, their disrespect for our service members has been repeated many times, across teams. The protest, begun by disgraced -- yet lauded by the Left -- ex-player Colin Kaepernick, has been intended as a stance against police departments' supposed violent targeting of black citizens. Studies reveal that that does not, in fact, occur; nevertheless, left-wing demagogues, as well as those in entertainment, continue to cite and spread the lie of racially-motivated brutality on the part of law enforcement.
Meanwhile, a brokenhearted mother grieves for her husband, who gave his life for the Stars and Stripes.
