Trump: Protesters Won't Get My Mic

Trump shames "weak" Bernie Sanders

At a press conference Tuesday, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump blasted "weak" Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) for allowing his rally in Seattle to be taken over by two Black Lives Matter protesters.

"I would never give up my microphone," said Trump. "I though that was disgusting." Calling Sanders' response a sign of "weakness," Trump said he and his supporters would never allow such a spectacle.

TRUMP: I would never give up my microphone. I thought that was disgusting. That showed such weakness—the way he was taken away by two young women. The microphone—they just took the whole place over. And the audience, which was like him, I mean, they were him. They were saying, "What’s going on? How can this happen?"

That will never happen with me. I don't know if I'll do the fighting myself, or if other people will, but that was a disgrace. [...] I felt badly for him, but it showed that he's weak.

Trump also noted that he and Sanders are currently "getting the biggest crowds"a deliberate knock on Hillary Clinton as well as his Republican rivalsbut reiterated that a public shaming like Sanders received is "not going to happen to Trump."

TRUMP: He's getting the biggest crowds, and I’m getting the biggest crowds. We're the two getting the crowds, but believe me, that's not going to happen to Trump.
