Appearing at an NRA leadership conference Friday to accept their endorsement, presidential candidate Donald Trump boldly exclaimed that Hillary Clinton plans to "abolish the 2nd Amendment," comparing his Democratic rival to a dictator.

Calling the NRA's endorsement a "fantastic honor," Trump promised to uphold gun rights in the United States, saying he'll roll back some of President Obama's gun control measures while sharpening his attacks on Hillary.

I will tell you that Hillary Clinton, and you know that I call her 'Crooked Hillary' because all you have to do is read any newspaper you want. 

But Hillary Clinton wants to abolish the 2nd Amendment, just remember that, we're not talking about changing it. She wants to abolish the 2nd Amendment. 

We're not going to let that happen. We're going to preserve it, we're going to cherish it.

The enthusiastic crowd applauded Trump's rhetoric as he went on to describe just exactly how Hillary plans to abolish the 2nd Amendment via SCOTUS. 

"If she gets to appoint her judges, she will abolish the Second Amendment," Trump said. "In my opinion, that's what she's going to go for." 

Trump also used the endorsement to broaden his support among women voters – a demographic he struggles with – by saying Hillary wants to hurt women by restricting their rights to defend themselves. 

"That is so unfair and that is so egregious and I'll tell you what, my poll numbers with women are starting to go up," he said.
