On Wednesday, Time magazine revealed its new cover, touting Hillary Clinton as the 2016 nominee. The article, titled “Can Anyone Stop Hillary?” and penned by David Von Drehle, posits that Clinton is essentially inevitable: “Clinton has not decided whether to run for President because to do so would only slow her down.”

Time’s worshipful coverage comes just as new information breaks about the terrorist attacks in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012, that resulted in the death of four Americans including Ambassador Chris Stevens.

That information suggests that the chain of command within Hillary Clinton’s State Department rejected the security requests of staff on the ground in Benghazi. Republican lawmakers wrote, “the final responsibility for security at diplomatic facilities lies with the former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton….At the end of the day, she was responsible for ensuring the safety of all Americans serving in our diplomatic facilities. Her failure to do so clearly made a difference in the lives of the four murdered Americans and their families.”

Back in August 2003, Newsweek asked precisely the same question...about Vermont Governor Howard Dean. "Can anyone stop Howard Dean?" Howard Fineman wrote. "Who can stop Dean?....Joe Lieberman says nominating Dean would be a disaster for the Democratic Party. He may be right, but the way things look at this moment, the Democrats are going to get a chance to see if Lieberman is right."
