It was a bad night when Miss Universe host Steve Harvey announced the wrong winner during the live broadcast, but it's not as bad as receiving death threats for participating in a beauty pageant.

Leave that to the Middle East.

Not since 1972 has a pageant been held in Iraq. Yet, that's exactly what was happening in the shadows of the Miss Universe contest. And because these Muslim countries are, shall we say, less than tolerant of such things, several contestants received death threats for their participation, forcing them to duck out.

But ignoring those threats was the newly-crowned Miss Iraq who, according to The Jerusalem Post, received a disturbing threat from ISIS:

Shayma Qassim, 20, won the first beauty pageant to be held in Iraq in 40 years on Saturday. According to the report, following her win, Qassim received a threatening phone call in which she was warned that if she refused to join the ranks of the Islamic State movement she would be kidnapped.

Lovely.

But a resolved Qassim said she is not going to let that damper her spirits and is determined to "continue forward despite any obstacles." She will represent her country in next year's Miss Universe pageant.

Meanwhile, Harvey is still trying to figure out who won (bonus LOLs for "phillipians" instead of "Philippines"):
