Barbra Streisand, the singing superstar and liberal supporter who received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama this week, says she would have had trouble taking the medal from Donald Trump. Streisand made the comments during an interview with ABC political reporter Jonathan Karl
“What if that was Donald Trump up there, I couldn't help thinking, ‘What would he say?’” she said. “This president [Obama] is so eloquent, so dignified, so smart.
“I probably would've choked,” she added. “It's terrifyingly scary, but it's funny. But scary.”
Karl, a reporter who has often received kudos for asking actual tough questions of the White House, dropped his guard and giggled along as Streisand mocked Trump and his candidacy.
Streisand is a backer of Hillary Clinton and said she wants Clinton in the Oval Office because it is time for a woman president.
She said a Clinton/Trump general election matchup would be “one of the greatest moments in television history.”
“Everybody would watch,” she said. “I can’t even imagine. I mean, I’m not worried about her.”
