Reality show TV host and candidate for president of the United States Donald Trump said that former opponent Dr. Ben Carson will endorse him for president:

Carson will become the second former Republican presidential candidate to officially back Trump. Last month, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie delivered a bombshell endorsement of the GOP front-runner.

On Wednesday, Carson told CNN's Erin Burnett he was open to supporting either Cruz or Trump.

"You have to consider all the information, who is most likely to win, and what kind of shenanigans will drive voters away so they will not participate in the process. We have to be very careful in all those things," Carson said.

One source said Carson still has hard feelings towards Cruz over allegations that the Cruz campaign told Iowa voters that Carson had dropped out of the race, hurting the latter's return at the polls.

"He's got a lot of animosity towards Ted Cruz over the Iowa thing," the source said.

 A Carson insider said that the neurosurgeon would be an asset to Trump. 

"He'll be able to go into places no other Republican can go," the source said.

Carson announced last week at CPAC that he will chair a new organization that will focus on getting out the Christian vote.
