Obama Takes Potshot at Trump on Tonight Show

Obama recently commented, in a thinly-veiled reference to Donald Trump, that the Presidency "is not a reality show." This, from the man who has made dozens more TV appearances than any president in history. He added another appearance Thursday night, this time on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where Obama joined Fallon in writing mock thank-you notes as his presidency draws slowly far too slowly - to a close.

Fallon got some laughs with lines like these:

Thank you President Obama’s birth certificate. He used to carry you around to prove he is American; now he needs to carry it around to prove he’s only 54.

Thank you Hillary Clinton for possibly becoming the first f –president. I would have said “female,” but someone deleted the email.

But Obama got an approving roar from the crowd with this last note, written as a photo of Donald Trump appeared onscreen:

Thank you Congress. For spending eight years wishing you could replace me with a Republican. Or, to put it another way: How do you like me now?”

Not at all, Mr, President. We still don't like you at all. Thanks for asking.

Host Fallon concluded the segment with this sycophantic note:

Thank you, President Obama, for serving our nation with dignity, class, patience, eloquence, optimism, and integrity - thus marking the first time anyone has sincerely said, "Thanks, Obama."
