The Social Justice Future in a Picture

“People think Mack has been beating up on girls… It has more to do with skill and discipline than strength.”

Freedom Center founder David Horowitz retweeted the following Washington Times tweet and labeled it, "The social justice future in a picture."

The Washington Times reports the controversial news that, for the second year in a row, wrestler Mack Beggs has defeated Chelsea Sanchez to win the Texas girls’ Class 6A 110-pound division of a high school championship tournament. Why is this controversial? Because Beggs, 18, is a transgender transitioning from female to male.

a mix of cheers and boos from the crowd followed Beggs‘ win Saturday.

Beggs, a senior from Euless Trinity High School near Dallas, has an undefeated record of 32-0, having beaten three female wrestlers along the way. One female opponent forfeited rather than risk injury facing Beggs, who has been undergoing steroid therapy treatments

The Times reported that Beggs had asked to wrestle in the boys’ division, but the rules for Texas public high schools require athletes to compete in the division matching the gender on their birth certificate.

Beggs' mother, Angela McNew, said, “People think Mack has been beating up on girls … The girls he wrestles with, they are tough. It has more to do with skill and discipline than strength.”
