In his "Louis XIII Genius Award at the Critics" acceptance speech Sunday, "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane slammed the cast members of the pro-family, pro-Christian show "Duck Dynasty."
In the self-deprecating speech, which was aired live on A&E, MacFarlane downplayed the significance of being labeled a "genius," taking jabs at Hollywood and A&E, but saving the true punch line for the Roberstons:
MACFARLANE: The word "genius" gets thrown around a lot, which is good because otherwise I probably wouldn’t be getting this. Even taking that into account, let's put this in perspective here. Being called a genius in Hollywood is like being called thin at Disneyland. This is not a bar that's all that high.
Let’s also not forget that I’m being declared a genius on the network that airs "Duck Dynasty." This is a show whose cast members believe hurricanes are caused by gay marriage. I wish I were joking.
