It's easy to brush off moronic celebrities as irrelevant, but the truth is Hollywood still holds sway over millions of impressionable minds. With that said, it's important we continue to expose the sheer idiocy and hypocrisy of anyone from Lady Gaga to Rob Reiner -- the latter of whom experienced a complete psychotic break on MSNBC's Hardball on Thursday.
As you can imagine, the "wisdom" Reiner regurgitated was hardly original nor was it based in factual reality: President-elect Donald Trump is an "anti-Semite." In fact, according to Reiner, Trump is kind of like a judenrat who sold out his lonsmen during the Holocaust by collaborating with the Nazis.
To his credit, lefty host Chris Matthews even contradicted Reiner, interrupting him to remind that Trump's daughter and son-in-law are observant Jews and that he is very pro-Israel. But Reiner wasn't going to let facts derail his crazy train, comparing Trump to "the Jewish police at the Warsaw Ghetto" who allowed Nazis to "march through Germany."
Reiner's "logic" is that it does not matter that Trump is not anti-Semitic or bigoted himself, because the President-elect seems "OK" with the fact that a statistically insignificant and powerless group of white supremacists are rumored to support him. Newsbusters adds:
Matthews quickly refuted Reiner on the anti-Semitism charges by pointing out that it’s complicated since Trump’s “son-in-law [Jared Kushner] is very observant” in his Jewish faith while his daughter Ivanka converted in marrying Kushner in addition to the fact that “I get the feeling that he's going to be very pro-Israeli.”
The shameless actor chose to double down on the analogy:
I go back to the Jewish police at the Warsaw ghetto. Yeah, there are Jews that were fine with — you know, saying, it's going to be okay, you know, march through Germany, it's going to be fine. There are people like that and there are people who have economic interests that don't have anything to do with holding up certain moral interests.
Never mind the fact that Israeli ambassador to the U.S. Ron Dermer told reporters on Thursday that he and the Israeli government are confident in the incoming Trump administration and looks forward to working with Steve Bannon.
"Israel has no doubt that President-elect Trump is a true friend of Israel," Dermer told reporters.
"We have no doubt that Vice-President-elect Pence is a true friend of Israel, he was one of Israel's greatest friends in the Congress, one of the most pro-Israel governors in the country, and we look forward to working with the Trump administration, with all of the members of the Trump administration, including Steve Bannon, and making the U.S.-Israel alliance stronger than ever."
There is a schism in the Left-wing brain that, as usual, lacks intellectual consistency and quite frankly, sanity. They believe decrying a "frog meme" proves they are great defenders of Jews while being pro-Israel equates to anti-Semitism because they view Israel as a rogue "occupying" force that's colonized and oppressed so-called indigenous brown people.
This is the twisted mind of the Left and as always it is frightening to behold.
