Sen. Booker Launches Petition Urging Trump Resign Over Sex Harassment Allegations

Let's hope that woman consented to be held so close in the photograph.

Cory Booker, the junior Democrat senator from New Jersey, recently launched an online petition urging President Trump to step down from the highest office in the land over the sexual harassment allegations leveled against him.

Booker wrote in an e-mail:

The number of women who have brought sexual harassment, misconduct, or assault allegations against him has grown to 20 individuals — and I believe them. We all should believe them. We must hold members of both parties to the same standard, and that standard should apply all the way to the top.

President Trump must be accountable for his actions. Please join me in calling on Mr. Trump to resign as President of the United States.

Booker is at least consistent. He was one of the few Dems who called on Al Franken to resign from the Senate over sexual misconduct. Perhaps this is another step in throwing his hat into the ring for president in 2020 as some have speculated.

Other likely 2020 contenders, including Sen. Bernie Sanders, Sen. Kamala Harris, and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, have also called for Trump’s resignation. It’s a very popular bandwagon for the Left.

“Let’s show President Trump that all of our leaders must be held accountable and that we are not backing down,” Booker said.
