Monday's The Ed Show started with host Ed Schultz excitedly talking about President Obama's State of the Union Address, taking place Tuesday night. Schultz seemed thrilled the president plans on addressing "income inequality" and shouted that Obama should not hesitate to bypass Congress in order to push forward his political agenda. During the opening segment of his show there was a screen with a graphic of President Obama that read, "Action Hero."
Schultz even said President Obama would be "inept" if he decided not to ignore Congress' role.
President Obama is exactly right to take action without Congress. And he would be inept if he did not do it on the part of the Progressive movement. Because that's what he ran on! Hope and change. We've done the hopin', now it's time for the changin'.
Later in the segment Schultz urged Obama to "use the pen" and do something while telling his audience Obama cannot get anything done with the current Republican "obstructionist" Congress. Ed also recommended that after the State of the Union Obama not delay, but wake up first thing Wednesday morning and start legislating away.
