Ed Schultz is fine with America militarily supporting democracy around the globe, just so long as "rich folks" foot the bill.
Schultz started his Monday edition of The Ed Show by defending President Obama's comments on Russia and Ukraine while lambasting "wannabe" Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) for their criticism of the president's handling of the international situation.
During his opening monolog, which lasted 11 minutes, Schultz discussed how the current circumstances in Russia should not be compared to what happened in Syria. On display behind Ed were images of Graham, McCain, Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI) and former American Ambassador to the United Nations, John Bolton. Schultz also played the clip from 2001 when then President George W. Bush said he looked "the man in the eyes" comment.
Ed then declared that Putin may not be in the wrong since some in the Crimean peninsula are supportive of the Russian government moving in. Then, referring to conservative hawks, Schultz added,
If we're going to have this idea that we have to support democracy in every corner of the world, well okay, but you rich folks. You better start payin' up real soon.
