Sanders Draws a Blank, Suggests a Democrat Equivalent of Fox News

Forgets EVERY OTHER NEWS OUTLET!

Bernie Sanders forgot about MSNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, et al. when he recently suggested that there needs to be a Democrat party equivalent to Fox News. Amazingly, the Democratic socialist candidate was a guest on the most unapologetically left-wing outlet of them all, MSNBC, when he made the suggestion. Not even the face of liberal journalist extraordinaire Rachel Maddow could lift the fog encircling Sander's brain.

"I think the American people are sick and tired of establishment politics and economics," Sanders said. "And by the way, a little bit tired of corporate media, as well."

"They want real changes in this country," he continued, "and I think as president of the United States, we can ignite those changes."

Maddow prodded him for his suggestion on how to fix corporate media. Sanders responded:

"I think we have got to think about ways that the Democratic Party, for a start, starts funding the equivalent of Fox television."

Maddow seemed to hum along in agreement, while Sanders continued his complaint that the mainstream media spends too much time discussing the campaign process (delegates, what dumb thing Donald Trump said, etc.) rather than discussing why all people need guaranteed health care and taking down the billionaire class.

It's obvious he must not watch MSNBC, but then again, who does?

Sanders told Maddow that corporations like Comcast, which owns MSNBC -- she laughed and called them "our overlords" -- need to step away from their own corporate interests and engage the American people in conversations on "the real damn issues" in America:

"I think the American people are going to have to say to NBC and ABC and CBS and CNN, you know what, forget the political gossip. Politics is not a soap opera. Talk about the real damn issues facing this country."

Of course, those "issues" are from his socialist point of view, which is kind of perfect given his proposal, because socialism works best when its populace is force-fed approved information and opposing voices are silenced.

It seems Sanders doesn't want to live or lead in a society that values a range of opinions, whether it's in the news media or in the American public.

The Freedom Center is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Therefore we do not endorse political candidates either in primary or general elections. However, as defenders of America’s social contract, we insist that the rules laid down by both parties at the outset of campaigns be respected, and that the results be decided by free elections. We will oppose any attempt to rig the system and deny voters of either party their constitutional right to elect candidates of their choice.
