The New York Post is reporting that Rosie O'Donnell is making some pretty heavy-handed demands as she negotiates a reported 7-figure deal to return to ABC's The View for one year.
The Post says their sources claim O'Donnell is demanding a say on her co-hosts and wants a ban on reality stars appearing on the program. The 9/11 truther conspiracy theorist would appear with co-host Whoppi Goldberg for twelve months and will have “approval over offers to other co-hosts.”
O'Donnell left the popular daytime series in 2007 after several high-profile debates with her co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Hasselbeck was a long-suffering conservative on the all-liberal program until she left last year for Fox and Friends. Her on-air confrontations with Hasselbeck often included personal and demeaning attacks from O'Donnell including calling her co-host "cowardly" as seen in the above clip.
Apparently, O'Donnell wants to avoid confrontations with a co-host who might dare challenge any of her radical, left-wing positions. If given the power to veto any other offers to co-hosts, O'Donnell, a classic bully, would be able to voice her opinion in her abrasive manner without having a legitimate, co-equal voice offering a valid and forceful counter-point.
If ABC grants O'Donnell the power she seeks, it will speak volumes about their interest in having a fair and balanced discussion on "The View."
