Rep. King: 'Don't Be Afraid About Drones Attacking Us at Starbucks'

"I don't want the Ted Cruzes and the Rand Pauls taking over the Republican Party."

Appearing on MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell Reports on Monday, Rep. Peter King (R-NY) spoke openly about his recent trips to New Hampshire and his consideration of a 2016 presidential run.

When asked by guest host Kristen Welker if he was serious about running, the eleven-term congressman had some harsh words for fellow Republicans:

Well I think a presidential run itself is very important, whether it's me or somebody else. I don't want the Ted Cruzes and the Rand Pauls taking over the Republican party. I want this to be a blue-collar, conservative, Ronald Reagan party. With someone who can work with organized labor. Strong foreign policy. Don't be apologizing for America. Don't be afraid about drones attacking us at Starbucks.

The misleading and mocking comments came on the heels of the congressman's robust defense of the NSA's domestic surveillance program.
