Reid: Women Less Likely to Wage War

Tells Rachel Maddow, "Women appear to me to be more patient..."

Saying women are more patient than men, Senator Harry Reid was effusive in his praise of the number of women now in the US Senate and the effect they have on the place.

"Women appear to me to be more patient. They are less — inclined to do things like war," Reid told MSNBC's Rachel Maddow.

Reid went on to tell Maddow that the country is ready for a woman to be president and to take leadership positions like majority or minority leader in the senate. However, that apparently doesn't mean he will endorse a woman for key roles.

Despite all his rhetoric about Democrats being the party that supports women, Reid threw his support behind another man when he announced his retirement, saying he wants New York Democrat Chuck Schumer to replace him.
