On Thursday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi stated that Democrats will demand deportation protection for “Dreamers” be federally instated by the end of the year:
"I fully intend that we will — we will not leave here without the DREAM Act passing with a DACA fix...I’ve made that very clear.”
Pelosi’s position tops a months-long fight in the arena of debate over the controversial rights granted to those whose parents came to the United States illegally. Furthermore, her insistence speaks ominously of a fight between parties at next month's congressional funding accord.
President Trump has given his word to Republicans in the Senate that he will not endorse any bill which includes support for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. Speaker Rand Paul has indicated his desire to postpone talks of DACA resolution until 2018.
However, those on the Left are digging in their heels in support of reward for illegal immigration. They’ve threatened to balk on any bill which doesn’t address DACA to their liking.
The Senate’s filibuster will give Democrats leverage, combined with the GOP’s historic difficulty in garnering sufficient bill-passing support in the House alone. Due to these challenges, Republicans may very well have to address the policy of rewarding those who break the law by giving their children unearned benefits.
Still, Ryan said Thursday that the President gave Congress half a year to pass legislation addressing DACA. That sets the deadline for March 5th.
Ryan commented:
“I don't think there's really any need to have artificial deadlines within the one we already have. Having said that, though, our members are having lots of conversations…We have a working group on this issue. And that working group is now going to spread out and start talking to our broader conference.”
One thing is for sure: regardless of whether DACA is addressed at the end of the year or on March 4th, leftist loon Nancy Pelosi — and those like-minded radicals who support her Marxist agenda — will never relent in their attack on this nation’s laws, and on their pursuit to legalize millions of would-be Democratic voters.
