There's some bad news coming out of Antarctica for proponents of global warming, so listen up Al Gore and Barack Obama: NASA satellites have discovered that ice masses are growing and causing the sea level rise to slow. What's more, as AOL points out, this new data explicitly contradicts the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that confidently warned the world that Antarctica is losing ice and driving up sea levels.

NASA said the proof lies in Antarctica's inland snowfall and lead researchers are reporting that the ice growth in east Antarctica and the interior of the west are now exceeding the losses in other areas.

AOL notes that this has been NASA's "position for years," but goes on to fret over sea levels that are still rising and the parts of Antarctica that are melting. It is stated that NASA is eager to study this phenomenon.

British journalist James Delingpole was surprised that NASA wasn't too happy about this great discovery. He quotes lead researcher Dr. Jay Zwally who said, "I know some of the climate deniers will jump on this and say this means we don’t have to worry as much as some people have been making out. It should not take away from the concern about climate warming.”

"Does that sound to you like a neutral scientific opinion?" Delingpole asks. "Do you sense any relief at the good news that the climate apocalypse of melting ice caps and rising sea levels may not be quite so imminent after all? No, me neither."

Delingpole points out that "the Antarctic has always been a bit of a problem for the alarmists." One reason is the 5,500,000 square miles of unexplored territory that is truly "inhospitable" to researchers or equipment. The other reason lies deeper, literally, underneath the continent, where volcanoes continue to spew their geothermal heat, thus causing a lot of the melting that is observed. (Remember, there are no people in the volcanoes, so man is not responsible for this warming.)

He goes on to list the data points NASA discovered: "[B]etween 1992 and 2001 the ice sheet gained 112 billion tons of ice per year. This rate slowed between 2003 and 2008 but still the ice sheet was gaining 82 billion tons a year. Not only that but according to the same study, it has led to a reduction in the sea level rise of about 0.23mm a year. Does that sound to you like a continent shrinking because of global warming? Of course not."

Delingpole concludes:

You don’t need to be a scientist to understand the bleeding obvious. In fact all you need to do is read this newspaper, which has been arguing as much for years. 

Scientists such as Zwally may refer to us as “climate deniers” but who are the real deniers here: those who look at the hard evidence or those who want to go on scaremongering regardless of what the data shows?

To recap quickly: scientists at NASA have used scientific tools to scientifically determine that what anthropogenic global warming theorists have been espousing is not true.

But since none of you are actually worried about global warming anyway, you can go about your day.
