If you ever wondered how high an opinion President Obama has about himself, look no further than the length of his farewell address.

The president’s speech on Tuesday clocked in longer than the farewell addresses of Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush combined — AND still went ten minutes more!

Here’s a chart published by The Washington Examiner:

Clinton spoke for 7 minutes, 25 seconds; Reagan spoke for 20 minutes, 42 seconds; and George W. Bush spoke for 13 minutes, 7 seconds. Obama spoke for 51 minutes, 10 seconds, nearly 10 minutes longer than the other three put together.

The location of Obama’s address also speaks volumes. Whereas Reagan and Clinton both kept it simple and sat at the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office, the Obama spectacle was like a rock concert, with 18,000 screaming fans at the McCormick Place convention center in Chicago. Bush also bucked the Oval Office tradition, though his speech was pretty low-key; speaking to a small crowd in the White House East Room.

The Daily Caller counted 75 times that Obama talked about himself during the address. Pretty good considering how long it was. That’s only 30 more self-mentions than he made at the memorial service for the five slain Dallas police officers. What restraint!

Obama has always said his presidency has “always been about you.” But what more proof do we need to know that’s not true?
