Every Hollywood actor should learn to shut his or her mouth and follow the example set by Mark Wahlberg, whose refusal to talk down to his audience with leftist talking points has earned him a spot on the Forbes’ annual list, earning an estimated $68 million in the past 12 months.
Having both acting and producing credits for Transformers: The Last Knight and last year’s Patriot’s Day, Wahlberg topped Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's previous number one spot of $65 million.
Not surprisingly, both Wahlberg and The Rock have largely taken apolitical stances throughout their careers, though The Rock recently flirted with Michael Moore's suggestion that he run for President.
Wahlberg famously stated that celebrities were “out of touch” with commoners and needed to find some humility before telling people how to vote.
“A lot of Hollywood is living in a bubble,” Wahlberg told Task & Purpose magazine last year. ““They’re pretty out of touch with the common person, the everyday guy out there providing for their family. Me, I’m very aware of the real world. I come from the real world and I exist in the real world. And although I can navigate Hollywood and I love the business and the opportunities it’s afforded me, I also understand what it’s like not to have all that.”
Topping Jennifer Lawrence for the top actress spot was Emma Stone, who became the world’s highest-paid female actor at $26 million annually. While not as insufferable as Lawrence with her political advocacy, Stone was seen wearing a Planned Parenthood button at the Oscars this past year, where she won for her performance in La La Land.
Other top-paid actors were Vin Diesel (54.5 million), Adam Sandler ($59.5 million), Jackie Chan ($49 million), Robert Downey Jr. ($48 million), and Tom Cruise ($43 million).
