A new study from a professor in North Carolina and other U.S. researchers shows that people with narcissistic tendencies use Facebook and Twitter more.

The study shows that,

...narcissists tweet more often than others and crave followers on Twitter to meet their need for approval.

While younger narcissists tend to prefer Twitter, their older counterparts are enamored with Facebook.

...adult narcissists prefer to post their news on Facebook, suggesting a generational divide, according to the study in the journal Computers in Human Behaviour.

Should it really come as a surprise to us, though, that people who think strangers care about the personal experiences they have at the supermarket, at work, or what they think about the weather think highly of themselves?
