An 11-year-old boy was raped and strangled to death by a Muslim man dressed in a burka who admitted he did so to lure the boy away from a mosque in Abu Dhabi. The child rapist was known to the family, The Sun reports. According to police, the suspect confessed that he “cross-dressed as a woman because he knew that the boy would not go with a man without permission from his parents.” The boy was at the mosque for prayers and to recite from the Koran.

The young boy’s half-naked body was found on May 31 on the rooftop of the building where he lived with his family by air conditioning repairmen. The Koran he was carrying lay beside him, is father said.

The suspect is said to be a Pakistani immigrant to the United Arab Emirates and was arrested less than 48 hours after the body was discovered. After the rape, the man strangled the young boy with a rope.
