Chelsea Clinton opted not to take a five-hour drive between campaign stops in North Carolina on Thursday and instead, sought out a faster mode of transportation: a private jet. Her destination was Asheville to take part in a “clean energy” roundtable, because only the best for a Clinton, right? As HeatStreet noted, Asheville is “a paradise for hippies who love the environment.”
Proving the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, her mother is doing the same thing; traveling the U.S. on a private plane customized with the “Stronger Together” motto to tell everyone how she is going to save America from many things, including the evils of global warming. Hillary Clinton has yet to disclose how many fossil fuels she’s burning each day of her grueling travel schedule, which includes not only the plane but a fleet of gas-guzzling SUVs.
In case anyone has forgotten, Clinton promised during the primaries to be “carbon neutral” in her run for the presidency and not just her, but staff, too. HeatStreet reminds that the media fawned over how campaign manager John Pedestal took the bus in the early days of the campaign. But it’s just not convenient to save the environment and so, the pledge has withered away.
It’s hard being a Clinton. Heck, it’s hard to be consistent. They can’t be both, that’s for sure.
The Freedom Center is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Therefore we do not endorse political candidates either in primary or general elections. However, as defenders of America’s social contract, we insist that the rules laid down by both parties at the outset of campaigns be respected, and that the results be decided by free elections. We will oppose any attempt to rig the system and deny voters of either party their constitutional right to elect candidates of their choice.
