Miss Texas Ylianna Guerra, a contestant in Sunday’s Miss USA pageant, boldly defended the free market and the salaries of CEOs.

When Guerra was asked if she believed the government should impose "boundaries" for the salaries of CEOs because they make "around 300 times" as much as the average salaried employee, Guerra said no.

"If you work hard enough, you can attain anything," she said. "This is the land of opportunity and CEOs — I believe they work hard enough for their money, so I believe they should be able to attain whatever it is they’re working for."

TheBlaze reports that while Guerra got a lot of positive response online for the statement, she was also mocked for a gaff. To a question about if a woman should replace Andrew Jackson on the $10 bill, Guerra said incorrectly that the other bills contained images of presidents, giving her critics an excuse to rip her.

In case you were wondering, Guerra did not end up winning the event, Miss Oklahoma Olivia Jordan instead taking the crown.
