Lyin’ Brian Williams Unfazed by Irony of Reporting on Trump’s ‘Lies’

How does he still have a news job?

It takes a special person to have been caught in a big lie and then have the audacity to complain about someone else’s lies. Or it just takes MSNBC’s Brian Williams.

Yes, the same “Lyin’ Brian” who was fired from NBC for “misrepresenting events which occurred while he was covering the Iraq War in 2003,” according to the statement NBC released in 2015. That’s what makes his reporting on the alleged lies of President Trump so rich.

During his show The 11th Hour, Williams spoke with radio host Charlie Sykes who recently wrote a New York Times piece titled “Why Nobody Cares the President is Lying.” Williams called it “provocative” and then read a quote:

“The cumulative effect of the attacks [on the mainstream media] was to delegitimize those outlets and essentially destroy much of the right’s immunity to false information.

“We thought we were creating a savvier, more skeptical audience. Instead, we opened the door for President Trump, who found an audience that could be easily misled.”

As the two discuss the Trump administration’s tactics, Williams spouted off a few grievances he has with Trump convincing people the media is biased:

“Just this week, there are now folks who believe we pick and choose terrorist attacks to report on. There are now folks who believe the murder rate is at a 47-year high. It is not, but the president said it was today. It’s not!”

Sykes said this is the kind of thing people living in “authoritarian regimes” are used to, “that the leader will define what is truth.”

You mean, kind of like what Williams did? Well, at least NBC punished him properly by sending him over to MSNBC. That’s where all “good journalists” go to die.
