Liberal Vegan Blogger Calls Himself ‘Woke Daddy’ and He's Not Joking

Wake me when he says something that doesn't sound like a parody.

French-born NYC resident Ludo Gabriele, who calls himself “Woke Daddy,” wants to change the way you think about fatherhood and rid the world of what he calls “toxic masculinity.” According to Heat Street, he encourages men to give up alcohol, to eat vegan, and to stop causing global warming by traveling so much (the next time you hear a liberal criticizing conservative Christians for being spoil-sports, remember this).  Also he writes more than you think a man should on breastfeeding and asks other men to embrace their sensitive side.

On social media, people appropriately mocked the concept when Broadly magazine interviewed the father:

During the much-mocked Broadly interview, Gabriele said that after his daughter was born, he felt "responsible as a father to break many destructive stereotypes around manhood and in society in general." Fair enough. He went on to say, "How can a father of a daughter not be a feminist? It simply does not make sense to me. I just want to live in a world where my daughter can look for a job and be hired for her skills, and not for the way she looks. A world where she is not short changed on her pay and where she is not sexualized on a daily basis."

Well, one reason why parents of daughters aren't feminists is because they're sometimes seen around town wearing "pussy hats," spewing fuzzy math about women's inequality, and are big fans of sex-selected abortion. So, there's that. In the interview, he went on to say that, “[Men] don’t see feminism as advocating for equal rights and opportunities for both genders." HeatStreet reports that he also believes “men don’t show their emotions because they perceive emotion as vulnerability and vulnerability as feminine.”

But wait just one patriarchal second, there, Woke Daddy.  Haven’t you ever heard that gender is just a social construct?  “How can you be male or female or masculine or feminine without at least implicitly assigning gender?” Emily Zanotti pointedly asks.   In deed.  Doesn’t his very shtick try to force people into certain gender roles?  Please.  Woke Daddy’s version of progressive thinking is too 2016 for libs to take seriously and too stupid for conservatives to take seriously.
