P. Diddy: Trump or No Trump, Blacks Would Be Miserable Anyway

"We don’t really give a f*ck about Trump."

Rap artist and fashion mogul P. Diddy had some rather surprising, though crass, words to say about the state of politics and the black community's relationship with President Trump. It turns out that they actually “don’t give a f*ck about” him.

“Politically, the way my mind is thinking—I ain’t with no marching,” Diddy told the Daily Beast. “If I come in the battlefield, I wanna be coming in the battlefield really ready. Also, honestly, that’s why you haven’t really seen me show up on certain things.”

P. Diddy offered a reality check seldom seen among those in his celebrity ranks, which is to say that marching in the street is futile for blacks because their lives are still "f*cked up."

“I think that to be honest, we don’t really give a f*ck about Trump, because [black people are] in the same f*cked-up position,” Diddy said. “So that’s not what we’re on. The tomfoolery that’s going on in D.C., that’s just regular everyday business to black folks. That’s not surprising.”

Diddy ultimately encourages people to turn off the news and start focusing on themselves.

“We’re turning CNN and all that s*it off because we’re trying to get ourselves together,” he said. “That’s what I’m about. I’m like, ‘Turn that sh*t off, let them deal with all that sh*t. We gotta start dealing with us.’ So my thing is, I gotta keep showing the dream. I gotta keep magnifying that and keep it focused on that self-love that we need to give our race.”

P. Diddy took an active role in politics in the early aughts with his efforts to get young people out voting in the Vote or Die campaign.
