Leave it to the open-minded intellectuals at Kent State University to hope conservatives are put into Soviet-style prison camps.
According to Campus Reform, the Kent State Socialist Collective (KSSC) tweeted a map of the Soviet Gulag system aimed at conservative student Leandra Westbrook simply because she supports free speech.
Westbrook, the vice president of Kent’s Turning Point USA chapter, wrote a message on Twitter decrying an anti-First Amendment petition aimed at the conservative group:
“Silencing speech is fascism. The petition is useless. We aren’t going anywhere.”
The KSSC spotted the message and replied with a map of the gulag system and stated, “There’s one place you might be going.”
Free speech is fine for KSSC, but no one to the right of their standards.
As one might expect, the group describes itself as “a coalition of ideologically diverse students and community members,” but noting its lack of tolerance for conservative ideals uncovers this fictional posturing. Because not only does the KSSC want “to advance the idea of a world beyond capitalism,” they also appear keen on advancing a world without conservatives — and using prisons if necessary.
