Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison raised some eyebrows last week when he posed in a photo with a book that espouses violence against "fascists" -- i.e., anyone the radical left wishes to smash.
The Chicago Tribune reports that the Muslim Democratic congressman -- and the Deputy Chair of the Democratic Party -- posted a selfie on Twitter proudly displaying the book Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook, with the caption, "At @MoonPalaceBooks and I just found the book that strike [sic] fear in the heart of @realDonaldTrump."
Perhaps Ellison thought he was being amusing, but the fact is that no American politician, Democrat or Republican, should even jokingly promote this vile anarchist tome. It speaks volumes about Ellison's radical sympathies, and those of the Left in general.
Ellison's Spokesman Karthik Ganapathy says his boss has not read the book but has been a supporter of nonviolence throughout his career, whereas Minnesota GOP Chairwoman Jennifer Carnahan said that the photo amounted to complicity in a movement "that continues to threaten the well-being of Republicans in Minnesota and around the country."
The book's author Mark Bray is a radical socialist activist professor who believes in preemptive violence against supposed "white supremacists" -- meaning the Trump administration and its purported alt-right supporters -- to shut down their "hate speech," speech which Bray and his ilk believe constitutes actual violence.
