Just Prior to Jerusalem Terror Attack, Kerry, Abbas 'Warn' of An 'Absolute Explosion' Over Moving US Embassy to Jerusalem

A warning isn't condemnation.

Secretary of State John Kerry apparently didn't think he caused enough damage with his betrayal of Israel weeks ago. During an interview with CBS this weekend, he echoed the sentiments of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, saying that if President-elect Trump moves the US Embassy to Jerusalem, "you’d have an explosion– an absolute explosion in the region, not just in the West Bank and perhaps even in Israel itself, but throughout the region."

Kerry warned of this "violent" uprising just prior to the horrific attack in Jerusalem on Sunday when a terrorist rammed his truck into a crowd of IDF cadets and officers, killing four and injuring more than a dozen others.

"The Arab world has enormous interest in the Haram al-Sharif, as it is called, the Temple Mount, the Dome [of the Rock], and it is a holy site for the Arab world," Kerry doubled down.

Now, there is a world of difference between warning of an "absolute explosion" and unequivocally condemning impending violence and stating that it will not be tolerated. Kerry, of course, did the former.

In response to news that the incoming Trump administration will move the US Embassy, Abbas sounded precisely like Kerry, saying, "we heard a lot of statements relating to moving the US Embassy, which we hope are not correct and will not be implemented, but if implemented then the peace process in the Middle East, and even peace in the world, will be in a crisis we will not be able to come out from."

"Any statement or position that will disrupt or alter the status of Jerusalem is a redline and we will not accept it," Abbas added.

Abbas' and Kerry's remarks come days after Fatah leaders stated that Palestinians would start a "new violent uprising" if the US Embassy were moved to Jerusalem.

JPost reports that Jordanian Information Minister Muhammad Momani warned the move would "inflame the Islamic and Arab streets."

In a previous article for TruthRevolt following Kerry's monstrous anti-Israel speech, I wrote that the Obama administration had certainly emboldened Israel's enemies with its grand betrayal of the Jewish State.

"Emboldened, the BDS movement and its anti-Semitic factions will continue – perhaps more successfully -- in their crusade to ostracize and economically strangle Israel at the diplomatic and institutional levels.

Today, Jews around the world -- in their neighborhoods, schools, and houses of worship – have a new target painted on their backs as bad actors will assuredly take our Secretary of State's words as justification to do ill.

Today, Palestinian terrorists rejoice in the streets because an American president legitimized them. They were rewarded for weaning their children on Jew-hatred and genocidal bloodlust."

For years to come, the Obama administration's anti-Israel stance will result in more innocent blood being spilled. And while we cannot say with certainly that the attack Sunday in Jerusalem was directly linked, the attacker cited the US Embassy move as his catalyst.

Had Kerry unequivocally condemned any impending violence, and had Palestinians feared any US retribution for engaging in terror (not just now, but over the last eight years), perhaps the outcome Sunday would have been different. We will never know for sure, but we wish we would have had the chance to find out.
