At most recent count, 22 people including children were murdered and at least 60 injured Monday night by a suicide bomber who detonated as concertgoers were leaving Manchester Arena in England immediately after a performance by young pop star Ariana Grande.
It was the deadliest terrorist attack on British soil since the 2005 London bombings, when 52 people were massacred.
Home Secretary Amber Rudd said, "This particular attack was aimed at the most vulnerable in our society, young people, children at a concert."
Manchester resident Charlotte Campbell is no doubt representative of what hundreds if not thousands of Manchester family members and friends of concertgoers experienced in the aftermath of the carnage. She told CNN that her 15-year-old daughter went to the concert with a friend, and neither had been heard from since the explosion."They're telling us to wait by the phones. Her dad is out looking... It's the most horrible feeling ever, to know your daughter is there and you don't know whether she's dead or alive," she said. She added that she didn't know how anyone could do this to "innocent children."
Jihadists can do this to innocent children because they are evil fanatics who see infidels as less than human, and because European elites like Prime Minister Theresa May, who tweeted impotently that "All our thoughts are with the victims and the families," and London mayor Sadiq Khan, who shrugged recently that terrorism is part and parcel of life in big cities, are facilitating the advance of jihad over the continent through their suicidal immigration policies and their head-in-the-sand multiculturalism.
Speaking of heads in the sand, the Independent UK predictably tweeted that "There's only one way Britain should respond to attacks such as Manchester. That is by carrying on exactly as before."
Do that, and many more innocent men, women, and children will die exactly as before, over and over again. It's long past time to stop pretending that if we just ignore Islamic terrorism and keep up a business-as-usual stiff upper lip, that the terrorists will simply give up in frustration. No more platitudes. No more hashtags. No more "I stand with..." Facebook profile pics. The West must get serious about eradicating this vile evil or watch more of our children die.
