Hurricane Harvey Victim Calls Chick-Fil-A for Food, They Send Rescue Boat

Buncha haters, though, am I right?!

Chick-fil-A took a break from serving up “gay hate” to save an old couple from their flooded Houston home, proving the fried chicken sandwich pioneers are all about serving their customers no matter what.

Good Morning America interviewed J.C. Spencer because of a viral picture of his wife aboard a Sea-Doo in their foyer — not something you see everyday. He was also carried out of the home on a Sea-Doo, but a boat had also showed up to help, and that’s where Chick-fil-A comes in. Spencer told GMA:

“Monday morning, we realized we had to evacuate. We had to get out of there. And so, I called Chick-fil-A. Now, that sounds kind of funny, but I ordered two grilled chicken burritos with extra egg and a boat. And can you believe that the manager — one of the managers at Chick-fil-A — she sent her husband to pick us up. We are so grateful and so thankful.”

The Spencers used the boat to load up as many of their possessions as they could, which left no room for them. Thankfully, two men with Sea-Doos were nearby to take the Spencers and their possessions to safety.

Karen Spencer recalled thinking, “Oh, well, here we go” and added that she was “happy to be alive” but also couldn’t “believe I’m leaving my flooded house in a Jet Ski.”

Spencer, a proud Texan, ended the interview praising Houston and predicting a bright future ahead for the city. And just to emphasize the kind of American Spencer his, he had rescuers take him back to his house later because he forgot his wedding ring.

"I couldn't save my house but I have to save my marriage,” he quipped.

On his way in, Spencer also killed a snake. Don't mess with Texas!

This is yet another example to prove wrong the Chick-fil-A haters and those that think Houston isn’t a shining depiction of America at its best.
