'Homeless' Richard Gere Gets Pizza from NYC Tourist

French woman did not realize she was on a movie set

Richard Gere was recently roaming the streets of New York City near Grand Central Station dressed as a homeless man and eating food out of a trash can for a new film. Not recognizing him as a famous actor, French tourist Karine Gombeau approached him and offered her family's leftover pizza.

Unbeknownst to her, it was all caught on camera. Gombeau did not realize she was standing on a movie set. It wasn't until days later that she discovered what actually happened. A worker at her hotel handed her a copy of the New York Post where she found a picture of herself inside the paper.

Gombeau told the Post that she was confused that day when people suddenly emerged from the subway to tell her husband to stop filming but still didn't realize she was on a set.

After speaking half in French and apologizing for the cold pizza, Gere told Gombeau, "Thank you so much. God bless you."
