Hillary Clinton Breaks Toe on UK Book Tour, Praises England’s Socialized Medicine

She flew all the way over there to tell them she’s a sore loser.

Before arriving for her appearance on the BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour to discuss her election memoir, Hillary Clinton broke her toe, causing her to miss the appointment. However, she was all patched up by the time filming started for the BBC’s Graham Norton Show, where she hobbled on stage wearing a surgical boot.

She explained what happened (before talking about What Happened):

"I was running down the stairs in heels with a cup of coffee in hand, I was talking over my shoulder and my heel caught and I fell backwards. I tried to get up and it really hurt. I've broken my toe.”

And this was just one incident over the weekend that caused many to wonder if Clinton’s mysterious illnesses observed during her campaign were acting up again. That’s because Clinton was 45 minutes late to a scheduled speech at a literature festival and also late to a ceremony to receive an honorary doctorate at Swansea University.

But injuries and tardiness asides, the former secretary of state didn’t miss the chance to praise Britain for giving her excellent socialized medical care.

“I've received excellent care from your excellent health service,” she gushed on Norton’s show.

Once again, a Democrat living up to the party’s motto: “Never let a crisis go to waste.”
