A Christian church in Germany has been vandalized with various Islamist writings. 

"Police in the town of Brühl in the Rhein-Neckar district of Baden-Württemberg confirmed the parish centre had been broken into on the evening of 30 December," reports Breitbart London.

Accord to a statement released this Thursday, the vandals left a "picture of devastation" by destroying glass panes, breaking doors and writing "Islamist" slogans on the walls, although the police have said they "do not assume" the Islamist writings were in any way relevant for the vandals' motives.

"A number of Christian sites were attacked in Germany and Austria during the New Year period, with the perpetrators still largely unknown," reports Breitbart London.  

Various Christian sites in northern Austria last week were also vandalized, with chapels and shrines having their statues beheaded, prayer books burned, and sacred images destroyed.  

In one incident in the village of St Radegund, vandals damaged a statue of the Virgin Mary before stealing prayer books and wooden objects and burning them in a nearby wood.

In a similar attack in Braunau am Inn, just a few miles away, vandals stole a Christ figure from a cross and beheaded a statue of St Barbara, causing an estimated 5,000 euros of damage.

Police have largely coded their language in fear of offending certain parties, which could lead to dangerous retaliation, and have refused to state whether the crimes were religiously motivated.  

Germany also just recently suffered a horrible terrorist attack where a migrant drove a truck through a Berlin Christmas market, killing 12 people and wounding 56 others.
