George Clooney Planning To Move Into Politics

Heart-throb "longtime friend" of Obama preparing to take his talents to Washington

In an embarrassingly fawning piece, The Mirror reports that having already “conquered Hollywood,” “heart-throb” George Clooney has Washington in his sights. And why not? Not only is he about to be married to a high-powered international attorney, he's got "longtime friend" Obama in his corner.

The Mirror reports that “a pal” confirmed Clooney's political ambitions to jump into politics and particularly his desire to join the Democratic party for the 2016 campaigns:

“He has big ambitions and aims to get into politics imminently. He wants to do more humanitarian work and hopes to join the Democrats’ 2016 election campaign.”

Clooney (53) reportedly plans to make the switch after he marries British barrister Amal Alamuddin (36) in September. Like Clooney, Alamuddin counts herself as a global political activist. Her most notable political move was representing WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange.

Apparently, Alammuddin is one of the major factors empowering Clooney to take the next step in his political ambitions. Again, from “the pal”:

“George is thinking of how he can get more involved. Now he has Amal by his side it will give him more credibility to run for office.”

Clooney has been a major supporter of Obama from the beginning, helping out with fundraising efforts and in 2012 describing him as “smarter than anybody." In April, Clooney got into a nasty public dispute with Vegas mogul Steve Wynn for insulting his "longtime friend" Obama.
