Even Michelle Obama Couldn’t Help ESPN’s ESPY Awards Ratings Flop

For the second year in a row, ESPN’s ESPY Awards ratings fell. Not even an appearance by the Left’s favorite former first lady, Michelle Obama, could lend a helping hand.

Breitbart has the numbers from Variety:

The Wednesday broadcast drew a 1.4 rating with 5.3 million viewers, the Hollywood-based magazine said. But that was down from last year’s 1.7 and 5.6 million viewers.

In addition, both last year and this year earned lower viewership compared to the 2015 broadcast which drew a 2.2 rating with 7.7 million viewers. The 2015 award show featured Caitlyn Jenner’s acceptance of the Arthur Ashe Courage Award.

Mrs. Obama was there this year to give out the Arthur Ashe Courage Award, which went to a much more deserving individual — Eunice Kennedy Shriver, founder of the Special Olympics.

ESPN continues to crumble as the network remains committed to mixing liberal politics with sports programming. Mrs. Obama was apparently the ace up their sleeve, but it didn’t pan out. Mabye that’s because no one was watching, because everyone’s already pulled the plug on ESPN.

Though she was there to honor someone else, Mrs. Obama didn't miss an opportunity to soak in all the adoration from those in the room:
